Admission Procedure

Admission Procedure / Rules of Admission

Admission to the B.Ed. Course in Colleges of Education, excluding the Government College of Education, and in Offsite Campuses of the University of Jammu shall be open to candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s Degree examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for the General Category and 45% for reserved categories (SC/ST and others as per State Government norms). The qualifying degree must be in the faculties of Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Commerce, or Music and Fine Arts, as conducted by the University of Jammu or any other university recognized as equivalent. A four-year bachelor's degree from a recognized university is also acceptable.

a) A candidate who is enrolled in the B.Ed. Course shall not be permitted to pursue any other course of study or appear in any other examination of the university during the duration of the B.Ed. program.

b) Candidates who have completed their Bachelor's degree with only two subjects are not eligible for admission. The candidate must have passed a Bachelor's examination with at least four subjects in any stream (B.Sc., B.Com., or B.A.) for admission to the B.Ed. course.

Candidates placed under the R-Appear category in any paper of an examination—other than the qualifying examination—or who were scheduled to appear in such an examination may still be considered.
